March to Eternity
Each of us struggle to rise up, not knowing our path
we find our way to this place made holy on a long
march to eternity.
We lay down our garments, some as new snow,
others old like the leaves of autumn
that add to the dust of creation.
We carry our father, mother, brothers and sisters
longing to embrace the past and join them in
some misty memory.
You will find no one but the living in this place
who remember that part of us we leave behind
as we find our way into tomorrow.
