LONG SHADOWS
Long Shadows at first Sun Light
Stretch over mountain stream
There ran the wolf and cougar
See their dens are empty now
No Crow or Sioux runs with them
For man has misplaced the dreams
That made the rivers run
Long shadows turn before the night
As darkness embraces the Sun

All descend into the Abyss
Reflected in starlight’s Dream
Shadows come at first light
And release nights tender embrace
Surrender to the rising sun
Feather, claw, skull and bone
For man knows not the value
No, nor the gift of Immortality
